About JESUS

Jesus is a really big deal for us here at Journey! In fact, if you spend any time with the Journey family you will discover we are all about Jesus.

Most people acknowledge Jesus was real. However, while many believe He was simply an ancient Rabbi, a great teacher, or just a wise man, at Journey He is our everything! Theologian and author, C.S. Lewis once said:

“Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call Him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”

Jesus, Himself said, “I and the Father are one…when you see me you have seen the Father. “(John 10:30), and “I am the way, the truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). God’s plan was always a four-phase prospect: Creation – Fall – Redemption – Restoration. And having ‘fallen’, our stories do not come to fruition (the redemption, and restoration) without Jesus. So, God’s greater story hinges on Jesus, and Jesus’ place in that story secures each of ours.

Jesus is the healer of the sick, restorer of the soul, calmer of the storm, mender of the broken, friend of the lonely, finder of the lost, lover of the unlovable, forgiver of the sinner, and Savior of the world. He created us, knows us, loves us as we are, and longs to fill our lives with purpose, so we can live out our greater story fully alive in Him.
