About JOURNEY

After more than 25 years in bi-vocational ministry, the Lord stirred Wayne & Cindy Farris back toward full-time pastoring. With the support of their sending pastors (Pastors Dan & Mary Bursch) and home church,  Lifespring Foursquare, a season of seeking the Lord began. Those efforts led to praying around the states of the Northwest region. On one scouting trip, a chance coffee date directed them from Deer Park, WA toward Airway Heights, WA, south on Swenson to a stop sign at HWY 291, where the Lord said, “Welcome home.” Three weeks later, Dec 1st, 2019, they moved into the Suncrest area of Nine Mile Falls.

Three months later, COVID would change their steps but not stop their plans. Embedding themselves into this beautiful community
became the mission, Cindy in her job with the school district, Wayne as a Chaplain with Stevens County Fire, and on the Lake Spokane Parks & Recreation board.

By May of 2021, a small group of about 16 people began to gather weekly at the Farris home, forming what would become Journey’s launch team. That initial band of brothers and sisters had their own paths and stories that the Lord was providentially directing to bring them together at that moment in time. All of them would become such an integral part of the Journey story.

While Lifespring Foursquare Church (Edgewood, WA) was Journey’s sending church, our commitment to the bigger ‘C’ church was evident even in our initial DNA. Our church plant was ‘seeded’ and co-planted by North Church (Spokane, WA), The Heights Church (Airway Heights, WA), Life Center (Spokane, WA); and strongly supported by Suncrest Worship (Nine Mile Falls, WA), Foursquare West Coast Multiply, various churches in the PNW Church Planting Movement collaborative, and more.

On December 12, 2021, we held our first public gathering at Lakeside High School.
